SEMA Member Participates in NRCC Annual Business Advisory Board Workshop in Washington, DC

  

Sante Fe Springs, CA (July 12, 2006) Jay Kim, President of California based Tornado Air Management Systems recently attended the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Community) Business Advisory Council’s Annual Board Meetings 2-day workshop in Washington, DC. The Business Advisory Council is a small, prestigious group of conservative businessmen and women, who have joined with the NRCC to advocate a progressive, conservative, pro-business agenda. The Business Advisory Council allows for these individuals to pool their expertise and know-how to bring some common business sense to Washington.
The two-day workshop opened on Monday, June 19 with a breakfast presided over by
Special Guest Majority Leader, John Boehner. Morning discussions included, Immigration: Securing our Borders, Health Care Costs and Your Business, as well as rising gas prices greatly impacting the consumer. Attendees, including Kim were invited to join President Bush and House Republicans Monday evening for the 2006 President's Dinner.

Tuesday’s agenda was predominately for Board members only, however, Kim attended a luncheon with special guests Senator John McCain and NRCC Chairman Tom Reynolds. Later that afternoon, Kim, along with other businessmen and women, set the agenda for an open discussion with members of Congress on issues that affect small business owners.
“The networking opportunities were great,” said Kim, “Several hundred business people were gathered from all over the United States as well as Republican leaders and Congressmen and women. It was an incredible learning experience. We were able offer our views and concerns as small business owners. This makes you feel as if you are a part of the solutions and that someone is really listening.”

Kim will be featured on ABC’s ‘20/20’ Friday, July 14, 2006.
